Meet the Writer

Jon AKA Dance Hall Hips

I established Dance Hall Hips in December of 2005. Since then I’ve single handedly developed a number of label relationships to provide promotion for under the radar artists. Currently, I’m chipping away at my degree in Journalism. I also provide selections for FensePost and Three Imaginary Girls, and am eagerly looking for any freelance opportunities.

In the past, I have been involved with my university’s radio station, working my way up from disc jockey, to news director to general manager. Besides the blogging, I’m currently involved with a school organization, Rock the Cave, which brings local and indie bands to campus. Here I set up band equipment and run the soundboard.
