Meloy Covers Cooke, Strips Down

Posted by dancehallhips on April 17, 2008

The Decemberists and I have a weird rollercoaster of a relationship. Every six months I’ll call them up after coming across old polaroids, go out for drinks, become infatuated for a week, making love to them until I’m just plain sick of them.

Ok…so that metaphor turned a little homoerotic, but you get the point. The Decemberists are amazing in spurts, but their maritime themes get a little wearing after a while…

That said, I’m back on the up-and-up with them…or at least thier lead singer Colin Meloy. Meloy’s put out two solo releases very recently, one entitled Colin Meloy Sings Sam Cooke (which is only being sold at his shows) and Colin Meloy Sings Live!.
